About the Session

Do you feel like mental health in the performing arts is often overlooked? Then join us to address this essential topic among peers!

Length: 3 hours  // Offered in ENGLISH or FRENCH
Registration: 6 participants MAXIMUM *(The group size allows for intended transformative experience)
In-person sessions only

This transformative experience invites us to create an intimate safer space to explore the connections between our mental well-being and our creative practice.

This workshop consists of 4 parts:

  1. Together we start by sharing our mental health experiences in the arts, a field often marked by uncertainty. We will explore what mental health means to you, and identify the major personal stressors in your current creative work.

  1. We recognize stress responses that often arise, identifying and exploring how worry, anxiety, and limiting beliefs impact us.

  1. Next, we explore cognitive-based tools and acceptance-based practices and apply them to transform our negative self-talk through an experiential exercise. Our aim is to develop self-awareness and apply these skills to our current stressors.

  1. We wrap up the session by sharing and celebrating the powerful personal creative practices we already cultivate on the daily, creating a shared resource for the group.

Our goal is to develop greater self-mastery in order to thrive not only on stage, but also in life.

Approach used:

This workshop is informed by the facilitator’s lived experience and engagement with cognitive-based tools (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy)  and Radical Acceptance practices. These influences are shared in an educational and experiential way, grounded in peer connection, reflection, and creative exploration — not as therapy or clinical treatment.
